The Task Number The number of the task you are viewing is shown in salmon in the upper left of your screen. The image below shows the first task of CLM Unit 1 (Task 1.01a). When you see a letter after the numbers you can assume that there are multiple parts to the task.
Buttons
On each task you will read some text and you will be asked to click some buttons to either view a video clip, learn the CLRA Facts, look at a Handout/Worksheet or Answersheet, go to the Next task, go Back, or to review a list of your final answers. Use the task screen image below to help you learn where some of the buttons are located: Hold your mouse over different areas on the screen to see what they do.
Materials
If you haven't already, you should save a local copy of the handouts for the Units. The link to download these materials in on the CLM Units page: from the Task Screen, click the CLM Units link at the top of the screen, then download and/or print the materials you need.
Videos
When a task requires that you watch a video, the text of the task directs you when to press Play to start the video.
A sample video clip is shown to the right.
To play the video, click the (play) button under the video picture.
To pause the video when it is playing, click the button.
To adjust the volume level of the video, click the button and drag the control up or down accordingly.
To view the video in fullscreen click the button.
If you see an image but no controls at the bottom, it is a still image and not a video. There are no controls for still images, except Zoom, which shows an enlarged version of the image.
Handouts/Worksheets/Answersheets
If there are materials associated with a task, another button will appear beneath the video/image area and instructions will appear in the text of that task. Click the Handouts, Worksheets or Answersheets button as instructed to view an onscreen image of the appropriate materials. If there are more than one of a type of material for that task, you can choose which you wish to view by clicking the different numbers inside the button. Facts/Rules and Fluency Cards
If the task you are viewing has facts/rules associated with it, a note will show in the text of the task indicating that you should study the facts, and the Facts/Rules button and Fluency Cards button will appear beneath the video/image area. For more information on these, click the FACTS/RULES & Fluency Cards link in the sidebar of this window.
Questions
If the task you are viewing requires that you answer one or more questions, a note shows in the text of the task indicating that you should click the Questions button, which appears beneath the video/image area.
A note for administrators and coaches: Using your coach/admin account to navigate the task screens is okay for testing changes you've made, but not for completing coursework. If you want to complete coursework, you must not be logged in with your administrative account.
